Service Description

You will learn all the skills you need to be able to Upholster a Full Seat. Ideal for the complete beginner or the ‘rusty’ upholsterer needing a refresher. There will be no more than 3 students per Instructor, so lots of attention given on a 1-2-1 basis throughout the course. Industrial Sewing Machine Skills We will start by teaching you how to use an Industrial Sewing Machine. You will learn all the different stitching you will need to Upholster your Seats. No need to worry, we give you lots of time to practice and build confidence. Seat Preparation & Repairs You will learn the correct way to strip down your seat and prepare it ready for the fitting of your new cover. This will also include basic repairs. Classic and Modern seats are totally different, and materials used also vary. Templating We will teach you how to Template your new Seat. Over the years we have perfected easy precise methods that can be transferable. Patterns Classic: You will learn classic patterns such as the popular ‘Tuck & Roll’ method and have time to practise them. Modern: You will also learn modern patterns such as the popular ‘Bentley Diamond’ and have time to practise them. Making Your Seat Cover When all this is done, we are now ready for the exciting bit – putting your Cover together! You will be guided through at your own pace. You will witness your creation coming together and feel the pride of your hard work. Fitting Your Seat Cover Finally… we will then show you the correct way to fit your cover to the Seat. This varies with different makes of vehicle, so you will be shown a few different methods. Expectations By the end of this course, you will be confident enough to go away and complete your seats. Why not bring your seat with you…. You can start on your project with the added benefit of a pro overseeing the work! Depending on your learning level, you may get to finish your seat. However, we must stress that this course is not rushed, this is quality tuition, and each section is mastered before moving on to the next.
